Twin CIties Antiquarian & Rare Book Fair!
This weekend, i ventured out to the state fairgrounds to attend the Twin Cities Antiquarian & Rare Book Fair and wow, am i glad i did! It was awesome! Or, as we say at work in the interest of vocabulary-broadening beyond "awesome": it was splendid! Here are some images and details.
Inside the pavillion where the fair was housed. Miles of books!
Marbled endpapers for sale. There were several bookmakers present and suppliers thereof.
Lunch was a corndog from a fairground stand.
Loved this cover art.
The offices of the Minnesota Free Press.
The top is a free button from the book review magazine Rain Taxi. The bottom is a bookmark i got to make myself using an antique letterpress!
Here's that letterpress! I felt like my prior experience with our heat press at work gave me an edge over other attendees for operating this successfully.
One of my scores: a children's book illustrated by an actual milliner so all the hatmaking scenes are on point. I'll be writing this up for La Bricoleuse at some point, no joke!
This was such a fun day, i think i'm going to do a Facebook series of posts to my author page, sharing links to the various groups/publishers/stores/collectors i met at the Fair. What a great day!
