Photos: Birds and Flowers
In the courtyard at my casa, there's a huge vine of Night-blooming Cereus, or La Reina de la Noche (the queen of the night). The flowers open after darkness falls, and only last the one night. We managed to see several of them open over the span of last week. Here are some photos i took, as well as some bird pictures.

This is what they look like well before they open

So close!

They're ready to open...

Libby displays the Reina de la Noche in bloom!
It's about 11pm and dark in the courtyard here.

Blooming time is over.

Do you see my bird neighbor? This lamp is right outside my door.

Hummingbird feeders at Casa de la Cuesta--can you find them?

Look how close i am to the feeders.
It was like being dive-bombed by the biggest bugs ever.
You can see a bird swooping in from above.
They're beautiful up close!
